Lisa Helen Mitchell (born March 22, 1990 in Canterbury , England ) is an Australian singer-songwriter from Albury , New South Wales . Her debut EP made it to number 1 on the iTunes charts in Australia, attracting the attention of Little Victories, a subsidiary of Sony / ATV, with which she signed in 2007. Career

At the age of three, she moved from England to Australia with her parents and sister Nicole. At twelve she learned to play the guitar , mostly folk and rock , and performed in small cafes in her hometown of Albury and at small events. In addition, she often appeared with her cover band Chrome , with which she played songs by Missy Higgins or Clare Bowditch.

In 2006, when she was 16, she took part in “Australian Idol”, the Australian version of Deutschland sucht den Superstar , and came in sixth. It was there that she first made contact with her current managers at Scorpio Music.

On April 13, 2007, she performed with the band "The Lees" and other local bands at National Youth Week in Parkes , NSW and played eight of her own songs. Raechel Lee from The Lees was also in the top 24 for "Australian Idol".

In March of the same year, she played live from home on Myspace and reached an audience of 10,000. In the course of the year she played in the opening act for Bob Evans , Ben Lee and Evermore, among others . She also started her own tour of Australia with her first EP, Said One to the Other , which was released on iTunes on August 4, 2007 and a week later via Scorpio and Warner Music. It reached number 1 on the Australian iTunes Top Albums chart and number 27 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The song Incomplete Lullaby was also used on the Australian dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance .

She started writing for her first studio album towards the end of the year and moved to London. She worked with Ben Lee , Kevin Mitchell (= Bob Evans), Clare Bowditch and many other well-known musicians and producers. Her second EP, Welcome to the Afternoon , was released on March 31, 2008. The download single Neopolitan Dreams from the same is used in the Australian comedy show Packed to the Rafters and various commercials. In Germany, the song became known to the general public through a Deutsche Telekom commercial and an appearance by Lena Meyer-Landrut on the talent show Our Star for Oslo . It also reached number 91 in Triple J 's Hottest 100, 2008 and was accordingly often played on the radio. The song Far Far Far Away was featured in an episode of the Australian soap opera Home and Away . The second single See You When You Get Here was released . In February she toured Australia a second time.

She spent a large part of 2008 in London to write new songs for her first studio album "The Attic Space", which has since been renamed "Wonder". In November she signed with RCA Records . Their first single from the album Neopolitian Dreams came out again on January 19th. The album was released in July 2009. In early 2009, she toured supporting Jason Mraz. She is currently on another tour of Australia.
