Lisa Robin Kelly (born March 5, 1970 in Southington , Connecticut - † August 14, 2013 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

Kelly grew up in Toledo , Ohio . There she played in various theater productions before moving to Chicago with her mother . Here she studied at the Chicago Academy of the Arts . After graduating with a major in opera and theater, she moved to California .

She was best known for her role as Laurie Forman in the television series The Wild Seventies . She was fired during season 3 due to alcohol and drug problems. She later said she started drinking after suffering a miscarriage. The producers made her again at the end of season 5, but dismissed her after a few episodes because she could not overcome her alcoholism. Her role was now embodied by the actress Christina Moore .

In August 2010, Kelly was arrested for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances. Since she pleaded guilty at the trial, she was released on parole that November. In late March 2012, she was arrested again for assaulting her life partner; she was released on bail of $ 50,000.

Kelly got involved with organizations like Hollygrove, Sierra Club, and PETA . She died of cardiac arrest on August 14, 2013 in a rehab hospital in Los Angeles. Shortly before, she had herself delivered there because of her alcohol addiction . The autopsy found the cause of death to be drug overdose and alcohol intoxication.
