This is a list of the banks in Namibia .

All banks are authorized and monitored by the Bank of Namibia (BoN); in the case of non-bank financial institutions , by the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) .

• Absa Bank Namibia , started operations as a major customer bank on November 10, 2009
• Banco Privado Atlantico Namibia (part of Banco Privado Atlantico Europa ), preliminary banking license issued on July 16, 2014, final license issued on November 1, 2015
• Bank BIC Namibia (part of Banco BIC Português ), preliminary banking license since October 3rd, 2014, final banking license obtained on June 1st, 2016
• Bank Windhoek
• FNB Namibia
• Letshego Bank Namibia , preliminary banking license issued on July 16, 2014, final license on July 21, 2016
• Nedbank Namibia
• Standard Bank Namibia

Provisionally

The following foreign banks have previously received a limited banking license , but they have not commenced business activities:

• Bank PHB Namibia (part of the Nigerian bank PHB Nigeria ), issued on August 21, 2009, withdrawn early on October 13, 2009

Former

• EBank , preliminary banking license was granted on August 1, 2013, final license on May 28, 2014. Taken over by FNB Namibia in mid-2017 and then dissolved as an independent bank and brand.
• SME Bank Namibia , founded by the Namibian state as an SME bank after the dissolution of the SBCGT with a provisional banking license from December 2, 2010 and regular operations since March 2013. In March 2017, the banking business was placed under administration by the Bank of Namibia . The bank was provisionally liquidated on July 11, 2017 and finally liquidated on November 29, 2017.
