    Church council
    Awarded on November 7, 1895
    The award ceremony took place on the occasion of his 40th service anniversary.
  2. Otto Kaysel
    Lawyer, councilor and writer
    Awarded on July 1, 1920
    Kaysel served as a city councilor for many years. When he retired he was made an honorary citizen.
  3. Otto Jantzen
    mayor
    Awarded on February 15, 1921
    Jantzen was mayor of the city from 1891 to 1921. When he left his office, his work was honored with honorary citizenship.
  4. Friedrich Franz IV Duke of Mecklenburg (born April 9, 1882 in Palermo, † November 17, 1945 in Flensburg)
    former Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin
    Awarded on June 7, 1929
    On the occasion of the silver wedding between him and Princess Alexandra of Hanover.
  5. Hermann Schuldt
    former district administrator, founding member of the SED in Ludwigslust
    Awarded on April 16, 1966
    The award ceremony marked the 20th anniversary of the SED's foundation.
  6. Meta Malikowski

    Awarded on August 31, 1966
    Malikowski was mayor of the city from 1950 to 1954. On the occasion of her 80th birthday, she was made an honorary citizen.

    Both came to Ludwigslust in 1945 after the end of World War II. They were honored as part of the German-Soviet friendship.
  9. Bruno Theek (* May 20, 1891 in Berlin-Wedding; † March 22, 1990 in Ludwigslust)
    Pastor, lecturer at the University of Rostock
    Awarded on May 20, 1986
    Theek was the first mayor after the end of the war in 1945.
  10. Leonhard Linton (born January 1, 1922 in Yokohama, † January 18, 2005 in Point Lookout, New York)
    US Army Corporal
    Awarded on May 3, 2000
    Linton was instrumental in rebuilding a civil administration in Ludwigslust, and in taking care of the victims of the Wöbbelin concentration camp . After 1990 he promoted the work of the Wöbbelin memorials. With the award, the city commemorated the 55th anniversary of its liberation from National Socialism.
