Astoria The theater opened in 1925. The theater and commercial buildings represent the rebirth of the city after the city ​​fire of Astoria in 1922 . The Italian Renaissance-style building was unique in Astoria and featured an auditorium with 12 murals by local artist Joseph Knowles depicting Venetian canals.

Close to Cannon Beach This archaeological site is related to the Tillamook and consists of a Kökkenmöddinger and possibly a pit house , which date to around 1550 AD. Parts of the site have already been lost to coastal erosion , but the remainder appears largely safe.

Close to Cannon Beach The remains of a Tillamook village and the two compact Kökkenmöddingers at this archaeological site were dated to the time between 1100 and 1700 AD using the radiocarbon method . This large and complex site is largely intact and has extensive potential for future research.

Astoria John Jacob Astor attempted to break the British monopoly in the fur trade in the Pacific Northwest by building this fortified trading post in 1811. The fort subsequently became an important part of the American claims to the Oregon Country . Astor sold Fort 181 to the British North West Company .

Astoria Retired in 1979, the lightship was the last lightship on the Columbia River Bar and along the entire west coast of the United States ; WAL-604 is from the last generation of US Coast Guard lightships built after 1939 . The ship was built in 1950 and is outwardly similar to the earlier types of lightship, but differs significantly from the nautical point of view.
