List of cultural assets in Pieterlen

The list of cultural assets in Pieterlen contains all objects in the municipality of Pieterlen in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of 29 June 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in category A and B are fully included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Early medieval burial ground discovered in 1928 during excavations on Kirchweg (Totenweg) southeast of the church . The grave goods suggest that the buried are Burgundians and Alemanni from the 6th and 7th centuries.

After the village fire of 1726, the house was rebuilt by the prince-bishop's secretary J. Laubscher, using parts of the previous buildings from the 17th century. Solid building built into the slope under a high, bent full hipped roof and with restrained limestone structure. Inside, two rooms in the Rococo style have been preserved.

The core is a Romanesque church building with an apse from the second quarter of the 14th century, a tower from the first half of the 15th century and alterations from 1615 and 1858. Two-bay choir with ribbed vault , the western keystone of which has an unusual iconography (three human legs). The glass paintings made in 1941 are by Paul Zehnder .
