List of cultural assets in Nidau

The list of cultural property in Nidau contains all objects in the municipality of Nidau in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of 29 June 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in category A and B are fully included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

		Schloss Nidau KGS no .: 1119	A.	G	Hauptstrasse 2-8 584 944  /  219663	Castle dating back to the 13th century , which replaced a wooden castle from around 1140. The medieval tower was supplemented by several buildings from the 15th to the first half of the 17th century. Until the first correction of the waters of the Jura , the facility was a moated castle surrounded by the Zihl and water ditches . Due to its exposed location at the north entrance to the old town, it dominates the townscape.
		Town hall KGS no .: 8982	A.	G	Main Street 32 584941  /  219426	The town hall was built between 1756 and 1759 instead of a previous building from the 1440s and is one of the most outstanding baroque buildings in the region. It has an excellent, richly structured street facade made of Neuchâtel stone. Particularly noteworthy are the joint cut on the ground floor and the delicate capstone rocailles and mascarons . The hall on the upper floor has rich furnishings from the construction period.
		Lido Biel KGS no .: 9034	A.	G	Uferweg 40 584597  /  219893	The lido in the neighboring town of Biel / Bienne , built in the Nidau ​​municipal area between 1929 and 1932, is an important New Building and one of the first modern outdoor swimming pools in Switzerland. The generously designed complex consists of a three-story restaurant wing and a two-story cloakroom wing attached to the south in a sweeping arch. On the lake side, the facility opens onto a large terrace accessed by elegant open stairs .
		Ziegelhüttenturm KGS no .: 1121	B.	G	Coastal 584825  /  219266	The defense tower , built around 1338, together with a small section of the curtain wall, forms the last remaining part of the city fortifications. The compact, upwardly tapering structure made of quarry stone has narrow, cross-shaped arrow slits on the top floor and a polygonal helmet .
