In 1482 it is recorded in a document that Johann von Schüren, Canonich zu Essen, the goods Walney, Overschüren, Nederschüren and the estate Asey from Werden Abbey are fiefdoms. The Asey family has been fully traceable since 1702. The farm had the character of a time lease. In 1831 there was a lawsuit with the domain treasury due to alleged property claims, which the plaintiff lost. Thus the 168  acre farm came into the unrestricted ownership of the Oberwallney family called Asey by means of a purchase agreement.
The Aseyweg branches off south of Meisenburgstrasse and continues to the neighboring district of Bredeney .

At times he called himself Johann Ludger Hackenberg, with his father calling himself Johann Caspar am Hackenberg in the registers, but whose father is referred to as Johann auf Nollenheid. Johann Ludger Steinkuhl (also Hackenberg) was married to Christina Sophie from Asey. Against the resistance of the farmers from Schuir, who, under the leadership of his brother-in-law Asey, claimed property rights to the farms, he concluded a long lease agreement with the domain treasury over the Kotten Hackenberg in 1828. This year Johann zu Wallney and Elsgen Beckmann received the estate for seven years. In 1739 Peter vom Viehausen and Anna Maria zu Wallney leased the farm for 14 years.
