The pile dwellings Abtsdorf I and Abtsdorf III are two of a total of 111 pile dwellings in the Alpine region that were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps in 2011. |

The Buchberg ring wall system extends over a large area around the summit area of the 808 m high Buchberg at the northern end of the Attersee over areas of the communities of Attersee (cadastral communities Abtsdorf and Attersee ), Berg and St. Georgen, which meet there . The approx. 1.1 km long rampart includes an area of 5 ha, the complex was probably already settled in the Bronze Age. |
