The church was built by the returnees from both world wars as thanks for their happy homecoming. The interior decoration comes from the sculptor Haslinger from Linz. The altar fresco shows the providence of God, the birth, the 7 angels with the tools of the scourge and the angels of the Annunciation. In the ceiling fresco, in addition to some saints, the symbols of the four evangelists are shown.

The Mooswinkl pile dwelling was discovered in the early 1970s as part of a systematic exploration of the Salzkammergut lakes. With the piles up to 8 m deep, it is a special case. With some probability it was not a settlement, but a ferry station. The site itself is in the lake and thus in the Mondsee municipality .

In 1145 the Mondsee Abbot Konrad II was slain at this point . This source is mainly sought for the healing of eye ailments.
