The settlement, which dates back to the 4th millennium BC, is located on the shores of the Attersee near today's ship landing stage. The pile dwellings have been largely destroyed by shipping. Stone tools, horn and bone objects, ceramics and bronze objects could be found.

The approximately 50 by 50 meter trapezoidal structure on the shores of the Attersee, made up of larch piles and stone fill, is dated to the 2nd or 3rd century. It is still clearly visible underwater today.
