List of the documenta works of art remaining in Kassel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the list of documenta art works that have remained in Kassel , all external works of art of the Documenta are listed that have remained in the area of the city of Kassel or have been re-erected elsewhere in the city area. In principle, all outdoor objects, with the exception of the immobile ones, such as the urban forest instead of municipal administration by Joseph Beuys or the vertical earth kilometer by Walter De Maria, are temporarily planned. However, 18 installations have been permanently secured in the past. There is no systematic purchase policy, but the whereabouts depends on the commitment of the population, on artist and sponsorship activities. Ownership and responsibilities are therefore different. Donations or acquisitions have so far been made from documenta II (1959), documenta 6 (1977), documenta 7 (1982), DOCUMENTA IX (1992), documenta X (1997), dOCUMENTA (13) (2012) and documenta 14 (2017).

The works of art are listed in their chronological order and, if necessary, sorted alphabetically by title.
