Remarks
- ↑ The rocket caught fire on launch and exploded. The spaceship Korabl-Sputnik 2 # 1 was able to be repelled, but was destroyed because it was too low for the parachutes and the two dogs on board died.
- ↑ Only 18 days later, Korabel-Sputnik 2 # 2, again as Sputnik 5, successfully launched into orbit on August 19, 1960. After a one-day flight, with 2 dogs, 40 mice, 2 rats and some plants on board, a spaceship landed safely and softly for the first time, the animals survived.
