This list shows all 38 launchers starts and -startversuche of 1960 on, where an Earth orbit or escape path should be achieved. Atmospheric and suborbital test flights are not included. Manned missions and missile first flights are shown in bold .

Remarks

  1. The rocket caught fire on launch and exploded. The spaceship Korabl-Sputnik 2 # 1 was able to be repelled, but was destroyed because it was too low for the parachutes and the two dogs on board died.
  2. Only 18 days later, Korabel-Sputnik 2 # 2, again as Sputnik 5, successfully launched into orbit on August 19, 1960. After a one-day flight, with 2 dogs, 40 mice, 2 rats and some plants on board, a spaceship landed safely and softly for the first time, the animals survived.
