Type / purpose: The abbreviation “TE” stands for “Technologieerprobung”, ie testing new satellite technology ; the ◻ symbol indicates CubeSats . See Satellite Types for further explanation.

Failures and partial successes

  1. The rocket exploded immediately after taking off. According to the official investigation report, the cause was a metallic foreign body that had got into the turbo pump of the RD-171 first- stage engine. ( Russian Space Web )
  2. The second stage of the rocket vibrated so strongly that the fuel supply was interrupted and the engine shut down too early. No orbital velocity was reached. ( SpaceX press release on Spaceflight Now)
  3. The Centaur upper stage engine of the rocket shut down too early, so that the satellites were launched in an orbit that was too low. Then they could reach their target orbit on their own.
  4. The satellite was launched in too low an orbit. He was then able to reach the desired track height with his own drive, but at the expense of the service life. ( Gunter's Space Page )
  5. The first step separation failed because of a damaged connection cable to an explosive bolt . ( ILS press release )

Further remarks

  1. The test device "AAM" was permanently mounted on the upper rocket stage.
  2. The Yes-2 experiment was launched aboard the Foton M3 and deployed a two-part subpayload with a re-entry capsule. These objects were not identified by space surveillance; their whereabouts are unknown.
  3. The Rubin 7 experiment was firmly attached to the upper stage of the rocket.
