This article provides a list of the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation in Saudi Arabia , according to the date of their appointment or accreditation and dismissal, as well as the annual ordinal of the corresponding presidential decree.

history

In 1926, Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud and his Wahhabis attacked the Kingdom of Hejaz and on September 23, 1932, united the Hejaz with the Najd as an essential part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . The Soviet government under Alexei Ivanovich Rykov recognized the regime of Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud in 1926 through Kerim Abdraufowitsch Chakimow . In 1927, in the Agreement of Jeddah , Great Britain gave the area along the west coast of Arabia conquered by the Ottoman Empire in the First World War , called the British Protectorate of Arabia, to Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud and guaranteed the independence of Arabia. On April 13, 1938, Saud ibn Abd al-Aziz refused to accredit a new ambassador, Nasir Tjurjakulowitsch Tjuryakulow , the previous one had been shot on November 9, 1937 during the Stalin purges . On September 11, 1938, the Soviet Jeddah mission was abandoned.
