Nek Muhammad , a Taliban leader, and several other people (including two children) were hit by a rocket shortly after Nek Muhammad used a satellite phone. Representatives of the Pakistani military took responsibility for it and denied any involvement by the US. However, eyewitnesses reported sighting a drone. According to research by the New York Times, it was the first attack by a General Atomics MQ-1 in Pakistan.

Two missiles attacked targets. The attack took place during the night and was aimed at Abu Yahya al-Libi , a senior al-Qaeda commander. According to Pakistani intelligence circles, he is among the (allegedly 15) dead. The US is convinced that al-Libi is dead. Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar described the attack as illegal.

In the first attack since the 2013 parliamentary elections in Pakistan , two rockets killed six or seven people and injured four more. According to the ISI, Wali-ur-Rehman , a high-ranking member of the TTP and deputy of Hakimullah Mehsud , was among the dead . Two days after the attack, the TTP confirmed Wali-ur-Rehman's death and withdrew an offer of peace to the Pakistani government in response.

The drone attacks were suspended from December 2013 as the Pakistani government was conducting peace negotiations with the TTP. After an insurgent attack on Karachi Airport on June 9, 2014, drone attacks resumed.
According to intelligence reports, three drones fired six rockets on the morning of the day at people who were looking for dead and injured in the wreckage of the attack flown the day before. They killed at least ten people in the process.
