Under membership badge or function badge military or civilian official badge which, in view certain functions within an organization or part affiliations. They are usually worn in addition to the badges of rank or rank badges .

  • In the Bundeswehr, shoulder cords (single-strand) are worn on the right shoulder of the field suit:
    Shoulder cord, golden yellow
    • Silver shoulder cord: officer from the watch service (formerly officer from the service), watchkeeper and the deputies
    • Golden yellow shoulder cord: Company sergeant
    • Shoulder cord blue: Sergeant on duty (no longer used)
    • Green shoulder cord: Private on duty (no longer used)

The symbols for radio and respiratory protection can be provided with the words "Local Commissioner", "Section Commissioner", "District Commissioner" or "State Commissioner". The symbols for respiratory protection, radiation protection and water service only with the words “District Commissioner” and “State Commissioner”. In these cases, the badge is shown in gold.
