Live on Lansdowne, Boston MA is the second live album by the American folk punk band Dropkick Murphys . It was released on March 16, 2010 on Born & Bred Records, the band's own label.

Emergence

The recordings on the album were made between March 12th and 17th, 2009. During this period, the band has been holding a series of five to six concerts in their hometown of Boston since 2001 on the occasion of the Irish national holiday, St. Patrick's Day , which takes place on March 17th. A year later, on March 16, 2010, the album was released.

The track list has been fundamentally changed compared to the 2003 live album Live on St. Patrick's Day (From Boston, MA) , only the song Forever is still included in a slightly modified form than Forever 2009 . The songs Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya , (F) lannigan's Ball , Captain Kelly's Kitchen and Fields of Athenry are originally traditional Irish folk songs, but were partly used on the band's studio albums before.

Reviews

The album received mostly positive reviews from music critics :

The album received the full five-star rating on about.com. Critic Ryan Cooper praised the energy of the Albus and wrote that it was a must for all fans of the band.

Mike Allen from Sputnikmusic awards the grade 4.0 out of 5 possible points. Like Cooper, he also praises the energy presented, but notes that some of the older songs would be missing, instead it is peppered with songs from The Meanest of Times .

Like many other critics, James Christopher Monger from Allmusic values the album's energy and awards it four out of five stars.

In-Your-Face.de awards six out of ten possible points. The CD is said to have a positive atmosphere and quality, and the new songs also provide variety in contrast to the band's first live album. On the DVD, however, the critic lacks the “gripping background stories” . He also complains that the songs have no deeper background.

whiskey-soda.de, on the other hand, only awards school grade 3, with the grade being made up of two individual assessments. The CD received a grade of 2+, while the DVD only received a grade of 4. The critic writes about the CD that the mood was brought across well, but the audience noise was sometimes turned down too much. The DVD received a lower rating due to the camera work.
