Lyudmila Gurchenko (also Ludmilla Gurchenko , Russian Людмила Марковна Гурченко , Ukrainian Людмила Марківна Гурченко Lyudmyla Markivna Hurchenko * 12. November 1935 in Kharkov , Ukrainian SSR , † the 30th March 2011 in Moscow ) was a Soviet and Russian actress and Estrada - singer Ukrainian origin.

biography

Gurchenko spent her childhood in the Ukraine , where she experienced the time of the German occupation from 1941 to 1943 . In 1944 she was accepted into the Beethoven Music School in Kharkov. After graduating from school in 1953, she moved to Moscow and studied at the WGIK (Russian ВГИК ) in the master class of Sergei Gerasimow and Tamara Makarowa , where she graduated from acting in 1958. In 1963 she got an engagement at the Sovremennik Theater in Moscow, then at the Theater of Film Actors. She appeared in serious plays like Stendhal's Red and Black , but also starred in the musical Kiss Me, Kate .

During her studies she appeared in musical film comedies from 1956. She became known in the Soviet Union with Eldar Rjasanow's directorial debut Nun's Strikes 13 (1956) and Alexander Fainzimmer's The Girl with the Guitar (1958). Parallel to her career as an actress, Gurchenko developed into an interpreter of Russian chansons and hits, as well as her own songs. Due to her popularity, she toured frequently as an actress and singer.

In the 1970s she increasingly turned to realistic contemporary dramas. Her most important roles during this period include that of a factory manager in Viktor Tregubowitsch's Alte Walls (1974), who has to cope with being a woman in her professional and private life, and the leading female role in Andrei Michalkow-Konschalowski's Sibiriade (1979) . One of her greatest cinema successes was the film Bahnhof für Zwei , also known in Germany , in 1982 , also directed by Ryazanov. At the side of Oleg Bassilashvili , Gurtschenko played the station waitress Vera in an unusual love story, which at the same time expresses courageous, but also amiable criticism of the obscure conditions of Soviet society. For this role she received the readers' award of the magazine "Sowjetski ekran" as best actress in 1983 and the actor's award at the All-Union Film Festival. In the same year she was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR .

Gurtschenko's first biography "Моё взрослое детство" (My Adult Childhood) was published in 1982, followed by "Аплодисменты" (Applause) in 1985 and another book in 2003.

As a singer, Gurchenko not only performed regularly, but also released several albums. As a true lover of jazz , she did not necessarily see herself obliged to a certain music genre, but gave the various branches their special artistic profile with her distinctive, own singing style. Her development towards stylish pop music in recent years was remarkable . Her duets and appearances with Boris Moissejew were a milestone , for example the title Petersburg-Leningrad , which can be heard on her album "Жизнь как дым ..." ( Eng . "Leben wie Rauch ...") (2004). In addition to this composition by Kim Breitburg , the same CD also contains interpretations of Russian and international classics from various musical genres, as well as a song by Vladimir Semjonowitsch Vysotsky and his own composition. The title Молитва (Eng. "Prayer") from the same album , which can be found on YouTube, provides an impression of Gurtschenko's art of singing .

Gurchenko was married six times and had a daughter born in 1959 from a second marriage. Her fourth husband was the Soviet singer Iossif Kobson .
