Lohhof is a district of the Upper Swabian town of Mindelheim and part of the formerly independent municipality of Nassenbeuren .

geography

The place is about five kilometers north of Mindelheim and is connected to the main town by the B16 . A stream rises in the village and flows into the eastern Mindel .

history

Lohhof was settled from Nassenbeuren and belonged to the local parish. Originally the place consisted of a single homestead, the Lohhof. It was first mentioned in 1363. In 1445 the place was owned by Hans Schlett zu Lochen. From 1903 to 1907 the Dominicans von Wettenhausen built the Lohhof monastery in the neo-Romanesque style as a branch monastery, which had been used as a retirement home since 1949. In the 2000s it was taken over by the drug emergency aid, which set up a drug rehab center there.

The municipality of Nassenbeuren was incorporated into the district town of Mindelheim on May 1, 1978 with its district Lohhof.
