Heimenegg is a district of the Swabian district town of Mindelheim in the Free State of Bavaria .

geography

Heimenegg is about three kilometers east of the city center of Mindelheim. The A96 runs south of the village . To the east, the Lerchengarten and Eichbichel forests close off the village. The town is connected to the city of Mindelheim by a local road.

history

The place became tangible for the first time when the Chunrat de Heimenecke was mentioned in 1256. This was a servant of the Lords of Mindelberg and had a castle southeast of the village. The Hürnbacher family owned goods in the village in the 14th and 15th centuries , parts of which came to the Katharinenkloster in Augsburg . From 1883 goods went to von Teck and later to the parish of St. Stephan in Mindelheim. The Augustinian monastery of Mindelheim and the Augsburg cathedral chapter also bought goods in the village. The St. Wendelin Chapel was built in 1700 as a branch of the Mindelheim parish. The Heimenegg volunteer fire department was founded on September 4, 1883 . On January 1, 1965, the place was incorporated into the city of Mindelheim.

Population development

The population has fluctuated only slightly since the 19th century.
