Oberauerbach is a place in the district town of Mindelheim in the district of Unterallgäu ( Bavaria ). The village is located west of the city on State Road 2518 , formerly Federal Road 18 .

history

In the documents from the end of the 11th century it was referred to as "Urbach" and in those from 1300 as "Ober Urbach". As recently as 20 years ago, many farmers were working the land. Today there are only a few who do agriculture as their main occupation.

The first written mention of Oberauerbach comes from the year 1300. Schwigger von Mindelberg, whose brother is choirmaster in the Rottenbuch monastery, sells the bailiwick via the Meierhof to "Obern Urbach" to the abbey mentioned above, including six other goods there for 30 pounds Augsburg pfennigs.

The community was incorporated into the district town of Mindelheim on January 1, 1978.

Attractions

The parish church of St. Mauritius was built around 1500. In 1753 the interior of the church was redesigned. The furnishings come from different times.

Unterauerbach and Stetten also belong to the parish .

societies

The district is characterized by a lively club life. In addition to SV Auerbach, FC 98 Auerbach / Stetten, the Oberauerbach rifle club and the Oberauerbach volunteer fire brigade, there are also a few smaller clubs and groups.
