location

The parish village of Loizenkirchen is only one kilometer northeast of Aham in the valley of the Vils .

history

It was first mentioned in a document in 891 as a meeting place between Bishop Embricho (also Ambricho) of Regensburg and Noble Uitoldus. The old parish received a Romanesque church around the year 1000 . The current parish church of St. Maria and Dionys was built between 1450 and 1500 in the Gothic style. In the Baroque era it got its onion hood , the high altar is neo-Gothic . From 1966 to 1969 and again in 2001 renovations were carried out.

A stately four-sided courtyard on the outskirts of Loizenkirchen stands at the point where the nobles of Luzenkirchen resided. In the 14th century, the Haybeckers were also important. A school is mentioned in Loizenkirchen as early as 1686. The former girls 'school is now used as a kindergarten, while the boys' school, which was built in 1954, was no longer worth renovating when it moved into the new primary school in autumn 1996.

In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Loizenkirchen was created with the municipal edict of 1818 . In addition to Loizenkirchen, the communities Abensbach, Eglberg, Guntendorf, Hannsmal, Hitzenberg, Loitersdorf, Mais, Oberhaben, Ödmann, Reiher, Rieberseck, Schafhausen, See, Staudach, Stegmühle, Unterzüge, Wassing and Winzersdorf belonged to the municipality. The regional reform in Bavaria brought the amalgamation with the municipality of Aham on April 1, 1971. Loitersdorf has been with Frontenhausen ( Dingolfing-Landau district ) since May 1, 1978 .
