Lorenz Grimoni
Lorenz Grimoni (born April 19, 1939 in Freystadt in West Prussia ) is a German Protestant pastor in Duisburg.
Life
Grimon's parents came from Königsberg (Prussia) . He was baptized in the castle church . When the East Prussian operation of the Red Army began in 1945 , his mother fled to Schleswig-Holstein with four children . After graduating from high school in Bad Godesberg, Grimoni studied Protestant theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster . After the vicariate he became pastor in 1970 at the Marienkirche in Duisburg-Altstadt and at the Salvatorkirche (Duisburg) . He dedicated himself to child and youth work and set up a telephone counseling for Duisburg, Mülheim and Oberhausen . With a Catholic brother, he operated the closure of three air raid shelters , which were used to accommodate the homeless . Even hard of hearing since childhood , he took over pastoral care for the hard of hearing and deaf from 1972 with monthly church services and excursions. He often helped authorities and companies with sign language . He initiated the founding of the Duisburg commandery of the Order of St. John . In the citizens' initiative Altstadt-West, he devoted himself to urban improvements. In 2014 he donated his collection of Duisburg archives to the Duisburg City Archives . Retired in 2002, he managed the City of Königsberg Museum on a voluntary basis, succeeding his father Erich Grimoni . At the time it was owned by the Königsberg Foundation and was dissolved in 2016. The holdings came to the East Prussian State Museum , Lüneburg. He is the deputy chairman of the city community of Königsberg and sits on the board of trustees of the Königsberg Foundation. On the 200th anniversary of Immanuel Kant's death , in 2004 he organized an internationally acclaimed exhibition at the Museum Stadt Königsberg. The patron was Peer Steinbrück . In 2011, Grimoni hosted the annual conference of the student historians' working group .
Grimoni has three children with his wife Hiltrud, who comes from Silesia.
