Eberhard Neumann-Redlin from Meding

Eberhard Neumann-Redlin von Meding (born November 14, 1941 in Danzig ) is a German gynecologist, Königsberg historian and musician.

Life

Neumann-Redlin lived in Rauschen in Samland until 1944 . In 1944 his family fled to Hagen (Neustadt am Rübenberge) . After graduating from the Bismarck School in Hanover (1962), he served in the Air Force . From 1963 he studied medicine at the Georg August University of Göttingen and the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . With a doctoral thesis in Würzburg pathology, he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. Trained as a gynecologist and obstetrician in Frankfurt am Main , he held a managerial position at Ev. Bethel Hospital in Bückeburg ; from 1998 to 2006 he was medical director here .

As a trainer for double bass , he taught from 1976 to 2004 at the music school Schaumburger Märchensänger . Since 2007 he has played in the Berlin-Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra , the European Doctors Orchestra (London) and the World Doctors Orchestra (Berlin).

Closely connected to Königsberg (Prussia) through his ancestors , Neumann-Redlin manages a family archive from the estate of the Franz Neumann Scholarship Foundation from 1876. Since 2004 he has been managing it as an endowment to the Königsberg Foundation . From 2005 to 2010 she ran a scientific teacher training seminar in Glambeck near Joachimsthal . It was named after the physicist Franz Ernst Neumann , who was born near Joachimsthal in 1798. It was recognized by the Brandenburg state government and continued in the Potsdamer Extavium from 2012 .

Neumann-Redlin was involved as an author in book projects that deal with the medical faculty of the Albertus University in Königsberg , the Königsberg Art Academy and the Berlin Medical Society . These include biographies about Ernst Neumann , Franz Ernst Neumann , Gotthilf Hagen , Rudolph Koenig and Helene Neumann .

Neumann-Redlin was senior staff surgeon in the reserve. He has four children with his wife Reinhild.
