The music video was produced by Han Sa Min. He previously worked with Big Bang on Blue , Bad Boy , Monster and Love Song . Filming began in Los Angeles on April 2, 2015 and ended on April 8.
Each member of the band goes through their own story. The music video starts with G-Dragon getting out of a car and leaning his head back so that you can see a tattoo on his neck. Truth + Dare (in German: Truth + Dare) is written on his neck . He walks the streets alone, feels isolated and left alone by the world and has forgotten what love feels like. Taeyang struggles with himself and his belief. He holds a cross in his hand that says Sin will find you (in German: Sins will find you ). In the end he takes his own life and the cross falls down. A piece breaks off and there is only Sin find you (in German: sins find you) on the cross. Seungri kicks a car and destroys his home after seeing the person he loves with someone else. He tries to call her several times, but is pushed away each time he tries. TOP cannot commit to a relationship, which is why he kills the woman he is having an affair with. Daesung is attacked by a group of men and tries to defend himself, but it doesn't work. In the end he lies helpless, full of blood on the ground. The music video for Loser shows the dark side of Big Bang.
The video had 4.5 million views on YouTube after 24 hours and was briefly the most watched K-pop music video in 2015 before being overtaken by Bang Bang Bang . In June 2016, it hit 100 million views on YouTube.

Loser was one of the 2015 best songs for Fuse TV and the only non-English language on the list. Billboard named the song the best K-Pop song of 2015. Billboard also named the song a "must-list" to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The Sun-Times named Loser on its list of the best big bang songs.
