Lothar Budzinski-Kreth

Lothar Budzinski-Kreth (born August 7, 1886 in Duisburg , † March 1, 1955 ) was a German football player .

Budzinski-Kreth belonged to the Duisburger SpV , for which he had played point games from 1903 to 1920 in the district, district and association championships organized by the West German Game Association . From 1903 to 1906 he was active with the club in the Rhine / Ruhr district , from 1906 to 1909 in the Ruhr district , from 1909 to 1913 in the association league and in his last season in the North Rhine district in the highest regional league.

Due to the successes he took part in two finals for the German championship and came on May 3, 1908 in Hamburg in the 1-0 victory in the quarter-finals against FC Eintracht in 1895 and in the 1: 5 defeat on May 24, 1908 in Frankfurt am Main in the 1: 5 defeat against FC Stuttgarter Cickers , and on April 17, 1910 in Munich-Gladbach in the 0: 1 defeat against the eventual champions Karlsruher FV .

National team

On May 16, 1910, he played his only international match , the first against a Belgian national team . Budzinski-Kreth - like Alfred Berghausen , Andreas Breynk and Christian Schilling , who wanted to watch the game - was called to the pitch at short notice because the team had only come with seven players. The game in front of 8,000 spectators in Duisburg was clearly lost 3-0 under these circumstances. For the first three named it was the only use for the DFB; Schilling came on October 16, 1910 in Kleve , in the 1: 2 defeat against the national team of the Netherlands , for his second and last assignment.
