Louis-Emmanuel de Valois (* 1596 in Clermont , † November 13, 1653 in Paris ) was Duke of Angoulême , Peer of France , Duke of La Guiche , Duke of Augergne , Count of Lauraguais , Alais , Ponthieu , Clermont-en-Beauvaisis , Baron von Coucy , La Tour , Florac , Montigny-Lencoup and Folembray , Lord von Écouen , Sevran , Villiers-le-Bel , Ézanville , Le Mesnil-Aubry etc.
He was the son of Charles de Valois, duc d'Angoulême , an illegitimate son of King Charles IX. , and Charlotte de Montmorency.
Life
As a younger son for the service in the church provided he was abbot of Saint-André in Clermont and commendatory of the abbey of La Chaise-Dieu before 1612 16 years old, the Bishop of Agde was appointed.
