Louis Corriveau (born March 23, 1964 in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce , Canada ) is a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Joliette .

Life

Louis Corriveau was ordained deacon on August 15, 1989 and the sacrament of ordination on June 16, 1990 for the Archdiocese of Québec . Until 1996 he worked as a parish vicar before he went to Paris in 1997 after teaching at the seminary . He returned to Québec in 1998 and became a seminary spiritual director , which he remained until 2011. Then Corriveau took over the administration of the parishes of Saint-Léonard , Sainte-Christine and Saint-Raymond-de-Portneuf .

On 25 October 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Arena and auxiliary bishop in Quebec City. The Archbishop of Québec, Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix ISPX , donated him and the simultaneously appointed Marc Pelchat the episcopal ordination on December 8th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Gaspé , Gaétan Proulx OSM , and the Bishop emeritus of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière , Clément Fecteau .

On May 21, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Joliette. The inauguration took place on June 28 of the same year.
