Gaétan Proulx OSM (born May 27, 1947 in Saint-Denis-de-Brompton ) is a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Gaspé .

Life

Gaétan Proulx joined the Order of the Servites on September 5, 1969, made his profession on December 2, 1973 and the Archbishop of Sherbrooke , Louis Joseph Jean Marie Fortier , ordained him on June 8, 1976 as a priest .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 12, 2011 auxiliary bishop in Québec and titular bishop of Azura . He was ordained episcopate on February 25 of the following year by the Archbishop of Québec, Gérald Cyprien Lacroix ISPX ; Co- consecrators were Paul Lortie , Bishop of Mont-Laurier , and Gilles Lemay , Bishop of Amos .

From 2012 to 2015 he was Vicar General and Moderator of the Diocesan Curia of the Archdiocese of Québec.

On July 2, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Gaspé . The inauguration took place on September 16 of the same year.
