Jean Gagnon

Jean Gagnon (born May 21, 1941 in Saint-Joseph-de-Lauzon , † December 23, 2016 in Lévis , Quebec ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Gaspé .

Life

Jean Gagnon was ordained a priest on June 4, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Québec and titular bishop of Lamdia on December 4, 1998 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Québec, Maurice Couture RSV , on March 19 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Raymond Dumais , Bishop of Gaspé, and Clément Fecteau , Bishop of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière .

On November 15, 2002, he was appointed Bishop of Gaspé by John Paul II .

On July 2, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
