Marc Pelchat (born May 3, 1950 in Saint-Samuel-du-Lac-Drolet , Canada ) is a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Québec .

Life

Marc Pelchat studied at the Seminary of Québec and received on June 19, 1976 the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Québec . In 1986 he was at the Pontifical Gregorian University for Doctor of theology doctorate. In 1987, Pelchat became a lecturer at the Faculty of Theology at Laval University after previously serving as a parish pastor. From 1997 to 2012 he was dean of Laval University. In June 2015, he was appointed vicar general of the Archdiocese of Québec, a position he retained after his appointment as bishop.

On 25 October 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Lambaesis and auxiliary bishop in Quebec City. The Archbishop of Quebec, Gérald Cyprien Lacroix Cardinal Ispx , donated it and the same time appointed Louis Corriveau of the same year on December 8, the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Gaspé , Gaétan Proulx OSM , and the Bishop emeritus of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière , Clément Fecteau .
