Louis L. Edemann

Louis "Lou" L. Edemann ( February 2, 1946 ; † 2006 ) was an American sound engineer who won an Oscar for best sound editing and a British Academy Film Award (BAFTA Film Award) for best sound .

Life

Edemann began his career as a sound engineer in the Hollywood film industry in 1978 with the film Das Großes Dings bei Brinks and worked on the production of nearly seventy films until 2001.

At the Oscar ceremony in 1989 , he won together with Charles L. Campbell the Oscar for best sound editing in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) by Robert Zemeckis with Bob Hoskins , Christopher Lloyd and Joanna Cassidy in the lead roles .

At the same time he won the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA Film Award) with Campbell, Robert Knudson and Tony Dawe in 1989 for best sound in The Realm of the Sun (1987) by Steven Spielberg with Christian Bale , John Malkovich and Miranda Richardson .

Most recently Edemann, who as a representative of the professional group of sound engineers was also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was together with Campbell, Robert Jackson, Ron Judkins, Andy Nelson, Steve Pederson and Scott Millan for another BAFTA Film Award in 1994 Nominated for Best Sound in Schindler's List (1993) by Steven Spielberg, starring Liam Neeson , Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes .
