Louis Neye

Louis Neye (born May 8, 1863 in Flatow , Osthavelland , † November 28, 1955 in Hildesheim ) was a German specialist teacher for agriculture and a successful textbook author .

Live and act

Louis Neye studied at the Agricultural University in Berlin and passed the diploma exam there in 1890 . He then worked for one year as an agriculture teacher in Oranienburg and in Heide ( Holstein ), then as director of the agricultural school in Katzenelnbogen (near Nassau ) and in Visselhövede ( Lüneburg Heath ). From 1894 he worked as a senior teacher and economist at the agricultural school ( Michelsenschule ) in Hildesheim . For health reasons, he took early retirement in 1919 .

Neye wrote didactically exemplary textbooks on arable farming , crop cultivation , animal breeding and agricultural management, oriented towards the practical needs of agricultural students . For over fifty years, revised editions of his most successful books were available in bookshops.
