The Louisiana State Capitol is a parliament building in Baton Rouge , Louisiana . It houses the Louisiana state legislature, the governor's office and parts of the executive branch.
In 1928, Huey Pierce Long , then governor of the state of Louisiana, had the idea of building a new capitol. The building, completed in 1932, was built according to plans by Dreyfous and Seiferth Weiss in Art Deco . It is the tallest Capitol in the United States and the tallest building in the city , with a 150- foot- tall tower .
