Luca Sestak (born January 10, 1995 in Celle ) is a German boogie-woogie , blues and jazz pianist and singer .

Musical career

Luca Sestak was introduced to the piano as a child , but showed little interest, which is why he was sent to a piano teacher at the age of nine on the initiative of his parents.

After two more years of classical piano lessons, Sestak discovered jazz and blues music as well as boogie-woogie on the Internet - mainly on YouTube . He was enthusiastic about this genre and began next to the classical teaching self-taught teach this style of music. From December 2006, he also shared his first videos on YouTube, which gained notoriety. His videos have been viewed around 27 million times to date (as of July 2020). A special feature of Boogie-Woogie is that he occasionally gives the left hand leadership tasks, i.e. instead of ostinati he also plays rounds and runs. In the original composition Walk with the Devil, for example, the left hand takes on very independent tasks in the powerful Stride piano style.

After appearing in the Karlsruhe - Mannheim area, Sestak's level of awareness continued to develop through videos. Up to the age of 20 he was at concerts and festivals in Germany, Austria , Switzerland , France , Sweden , Italy , Belgium , the Netherlands and the USA . a. performed with Vince Weber , Ben Waters , Silvan Zingg , Pete York , Bob Seeley and Frank Muschalle .

In 2010 Sestak appeared for the first time on German television over coffee or tea on SWR .
