Lucas Cejpek (born December 14, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer and director .

Life

When his parents moved in 1960, Lucas Cejpek moved from Vienna to Graz , where he grew up and passed his school-leaving examination in 1975. He then studied German and English at Montclair State College, New Jersey, USA, from 1976 onwards at the University of Graz and received his doctorate in 1982 with a dissertation on Robert Musil's man without qualities as a cultural theory. While still a student, he worked at the Forum Stadtpark and has directed the theater since 1981 for world premieres. From 1983 to 1999 he was a lecturer at the Universities of Graz and Vienna, from 1983 to 1990 he was a permanent freelancer at ORF Styria, literature and radio plays, and since 1990 he has lived in Vienna as a freelance writer, theater and radio play director.

His first literary publication took place in 1984 in the manuscripts , in 1997 he gave a poetics lecture in the Alte Schmiede and at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Vienna 16,000 kilometers. Self-description . In 2003 he was writer in residence at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA.

He designed numerous events: After Musil , Vienna City Hall 1992; Zettelwerk , Alte Schmiede, Vienna 1998; Leaflet , Literaturhaus Basel, 2000/01; Archive talks , Austrian Literature Archive of the Austrian National Library 2000/02.

Lucas Cejpek has a younger sister, the actress Henriette Cejpek .
