history

Ludvika FFI

Ludvika FFI was founded on November 27, 1904. In 1928, the soccer team was one of the founding members of the newly introduced third-class Division 3 . However, the season was ended on a relegation zone and they said goodbye directly to higher-class football. It wasn't until 1936 that the club managed to return. The team immediately established itself in the top group and, as runner-up behind Skutskärs IF, missed a direct march through to the second division . A year later they became the season winner and defeated Skärgårdens IF in the promotion games .

Ludvika FFI also played directly for promotion to the Allsvenskan in Division 2 Norra . Behind the season winner Hammarby IF , the runner-up was two points behind. The success could not be confirmed in the following years, the club regularly ended up in the middle of the table. In 1942, the team was only one point ahead of relegated Ljusne AIK and IFK Lidingö . A year later they finished third again and in 1944 the club finished the season as a season winner. In the promotion games to Allsvenskan, the team met the season winner of Division 2 Östra , IFK Eskilstuna . After a 1-1 draw on their own pitch, they were promoted to the Swedish elite series with a 3-1 away win.

However, the first division proved too strong for Ludvika FFI. Equal on points with the tenth Helsingborgs IF in the table , the team had to return to the second division after six wins this season and two draws because of the poorer goal difference.

As a first division relegated Ludvika FFI managed only a midfield place, but in 1947 the team was again the season winner. In the promotion games against Jönköpings Södra IF , however, both comparisons ended in defeat. A year later, as third in the table, three points were missing from the promoted Örebro SK . In 1949 Ludvika FFI said goodbye as bottom of the table with only eleven plus points from the second division.

1951 succeeded Ludvika FFI as the relay winner of Division 3 Norra with two points ahead of Hallstahammars SK the rise. With only eleven points again, the team went straight down again and since only one relegation place was occupied in Division 3, Ludvika FFi even crashed into the fourth division. After the immediate resurgence, the team was able to establish itself in the third division in the following years. In 1957, as runner-up behind Hallstahammars SK, the team narrowly missed the return to the second division. However, she could not confirm the success and from 1959 she found herself in a relegation battle. In 1960 she accompanied Enköpings SK and IFK Västerås into the fourth division.

In the following years, Ludvika FFI established itself as the elevator team . In Division 4 Dalarna , the team won the season in 1961 with only one defeat this season and returned directly to the third division. After two years, however, the descent was again certain, which was followed by an immediate rise. In the relay Norra Svealand in 1965 only one relegation place could be taken. In 1968 the crash into the fifth division followed, which was followed by the immediate resurgence. The club managed to set up in the front table area of the league and in 1973 managed to return to the third division as a season winner.

IFK Ludvika

IFK Ludvika was founded in 1946. For a long time the soccer team played only inferiorly. 1966 succeeded in promotion to Division 4 , where the club was initially able to establish itself in the front table area. In 1969 the club was relegated again, but managed to get promoted again directly. Again, top places get straight away. In 1973 the team behind Ludvika FFI was runner-up.

Merger to Ludvika FK

In 1975, the football departments of the third division Ludvika FFI and fourth division IFK Ludvika merged and from then on entered the third division under the name Ludvika FK. As a runner-up behind IK Brage , the merger missed promotion to the second division in 1977. 1979 succeeded the second place in the relay Västra Svealand , but master Karlstad BK had 13 points ahead. 1980 they fail with seven points behind Karlslunds IF . Two years later, the slump followed and the club was relegated to the fourth division as the penultimate.

With 38: 6 points and 91:22 goals Ludvika FK won the season straight away and returned to the third division. As a runner-up one point behind Karlstad BK, the march into the second division was just missed. The team established itself in the front of the table and in the league reform in 1986, the team was able to qualify as second behind BK Forward for the now third-class Division 2. There she fought against relegation, which had to be accepted in 1988.

Behind Kvarnsvedens IK , Ludvika FK had to be content with second place in the fourth division and thus missed the direct return. This was accomplished a year later with only one loss for the season. In the third division, the team was regularly placed in the middle of the table. In 1995 she ended the season on the relegation place, but without defeat she sat there against Filipstads FF and Vagnhärads SK and managed to stay up. Two years later the club won Division 2 Västra Svealand and returned to the second division 45 years after Ludvika FFI's relegation.

As the penultimate with 25 plus points, Ludvika FK missed relegation in Division 1 Norra and was even passed into fourth division in the following season. In 2001 the club managed to return to the third division, in 2004 they had to relegate as bottom of the table again. There only the ninth place could be occupied and because of a league reform the team came to the now fifth-class Division 3.
