Ludwig Compenius

Ludwig Compenius (* around 1603 in Halle (Saale) ; † February 11, 1671 in Erfurt ) was a Central German organ and harpsichord builder from the Compenius family of organ builders .

Life

He was the son of the organ builder Heinrich Compenius the Younger . Around 1632 he settled there as an employed organ builder of the cathedral chapter in Naumburg . After 1647 he became a citizen of Erfurt. His son Christoph Compenius was court choirmaster in Weimar .

Ludwig Compenius also built a harpsichord for the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig in 1670 .
