Life

Ludwig Gebhard von Hoym was the son of Christian Julius von Hoym and Giesela geb. from the Asseburg. On March 6, 1676, in Vienna and his descendants , he was raised to the status of imperial baron with an increase in coat of arms and the title Well-Born , and as a real Privy Councilor and Chamber Director, on October 18, 1684, he had also received the electoral Saxon nobility recognition.

Ludwig Gebhard was married four times. In the first marriage with Elisabeth Sybilla geb. Tambin's daughter Gisela Sybika was born in 1659, and the mother died of her birth defects and was buried with the child on October 26, 1659 in Droyanzig. The second marriage with Catharina Sophia von Schönfeld, daughter of Hans Asmus von Schönfeld zu Döben , in 1664 resulted in 13 children, including Adolph Magnus (1668), Carl Siegfriedt (1675) and Ludwig Gebhard (1678). His second wife was buried on July 12, 1681 in Droyßig. The third wife, Anna Christina b. von Haugwitz died in 1704. The son Carl Heinrich von Hoym emerged from this marriage . His fourth marriage was on February 5, 1708 in Droyanzig.

Ludwig Gebhard had inherited the paternal rule of Droyzut and in 1694 referred to himself as the eldest of his family. After the death of his brother Christian von Hoym, his fiefs had fallen to him, including castle divisions . In addition, on March 8, 1692, he had bought the Birkigt manor from the brothers Friedrich and Christian Julius von Nißmitz , to which the places Altenroda and Groß-Wangen also belonged.
