Ludwig Hecke (pedagogue)

Ludwig Hecke (born February 12, 1957 in Hanover ) is a German educator and ministerial official . From 2010 to 2017 he was State Secretary in the Ministry for Schools and Further Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Hanover in 1976, Hecke studied pedagogy and social pedagogy at the universities in Osnabrück and Frankfurt am Main from 1976 to 1979 and from 1981 to 1983 . He finished his studies with the exams as a social and diploma pedagogue.

Hecke worked from 1979 to 1981 as a youth education officer at the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ) in Bremen and from 1983 to 1990 acted as state manager of the BDKJ Lower Saxony. From 1991 to 1993 he was an advisor for day-care centers in Lower Saxony , from 1993 to 1999 head of department for day-care centers in the Lower Saxony State Youth Welfare Office, from 1999 to 2000 deputy head of department for youth work and youth social work in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture and from 2000 to 2005 department head for day-care centers, educational assistance and Superordinate tasks in the Lower Saxony State Youth Welfare Office . In 2006 he was appointed head of the department for day-care centers in the Lower Saxony state school authority . A year later he returned to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education as a consultant for day-care centers. From 2007 to 2010, Hecke was city councilor and department head for youth, school and public order in the city of Göttingen .

On July 16, 2010, Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft appointed him State Secretary in the Ministry for Schools and Further Education of North Rhine-Westphalia. He left office at the end of June 2017.

He is a member of Alliance 90 / The Greens .

Ludwig Hecke is married and has four daughters.
