The Kategoria Superiore 2004/05 (mutatis mutandis: Highest League ) was the 66th staging of the Albanian football championship and was the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit aligned.
As in the previous year, the season was held with ten teams. The championship was played in two first and two second round matches. Each team competed four times against every other team. The season started on August 21, 2004 and ended on May 20, 2005.
Season course
Defending champion SK Tirana started the season with seven wins in a row. Pursuit KF Elbasani came close to two points in the meantime, but then had to drop to seven points on matchday 13. Two game days before the end of the season, SK Tirana was able to secure the 22nd championship title.
Runner-up KF Elbasani and cup winner KS Teuta Durrës started in the UEFA Cup , while third place KS Dinamo Tirana played in the UI Cup .
The team from the newly promoted KF Laçi was hopelessly inferior and was determined to be the first relegated after the 26th matchday. The team lost all home games and drew only two times with a 1-1 draw at KS Lushnja and 5-5 at FK Partizani Tirana . The team conceded a total of 124 goals. The second promoted, KS Egnatia Rrogozhina , was also relegated five game days before the end of the season.
