Ludwig Held

Ludwig Held (born April 14, 1837 in Regensburg , † March 2, 1900 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer and librettist.

After moving to Vienna, Ludwig Held was secretary at the Theater an der Wien during the management of Maximilian Steiner . He then worked as a journalist for the Neue Blatt and as a theater advisor for the Neue Wiener Tagblatt and wrote operetta libretti and antics, some for his son Leo Held .

On March 4, 1900, Held was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery with an extremely large number of authors and artists (grave site: group 0, row 0, no. 158).
