Ludwig Konrad Albert Koch (born January 27, 1850 in Darmstadt , † May 18, 1938 in Heidelberg ) was a German botanist . His botanical author abbreviation is " LKAKoch ".

Life

Ludwig Konrad Albert Koch was the son of the lawyer Johann Jacob Koch (1805–1886) and his wife Dorothea Wilhelmine, née Schilling (1827–1907). Ludwig Koch studied at the TH Darmstadt and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and was awarded a doctorate in Heidelberg on August 8, 1874. phil. PhD . He then became an assistant at the Phytophysiological Institute and Herbarium and then completed his habilitation in Heidelberg on June 4, 1877. After an interim assignment as a lecturer and acting head of the Plant Physiological Institute at the Agricultural Academy in Proskau, Ludwig Konrad Albert Koch worked from the winter semester 1878/79 until 1929 as a botanist in Heidelberg. On February 7, 1882, he became associate professor, on March 15, 1902, honorary professor and on February 21, 1908, full honorary professor at the University of Heidelberg.

On November 29, 1885 he was elected a member ( matriculation no. 2560 ) of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .

In 1910 he was awarded the Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Order of the Zähringer Lion .
