Ludwig Lucas

Ludwig Lucas (born March 16, 1796 in Petrikau , South Prussia , † June 14, 1854 in Schrimm , Province of Posen ) was a German educator.

Life

From 1816 Lucas studied first Protestant theology , then law at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In 1817 he was a co-founder of the General Königsberg fraternity and represented it in March 1818 at the General Boys' Day in Jena. In 1820 he began an academic career. On behalf of the Chief President Theodor von Schön , he arranged the libraries and archives of the abolished monasteries. In 1822 he became a teacher at the Altstädtisches Gymnasium , in 1828 a government school councilor as assistant to Gustav Friedrich Dinter and in 1832 director of the new Kneiphöfisches Gymnasium . In 1835 he became an associate professor for German literature . As the successor to Reinhold Bernhard Jachmann , he was appointed Provincial School Council for East Prussia in 1843 . In 1848 he was transferred to Poznan .
