Ludwig Schneider (chess player)
Ludwig Schneider (born June 11, 1907 , † April 18, 1975 ) was a German chess player and from 1951 until his death in 1975 president of the German Chess Federation .
Life
Ludwig Schneider became chairman of SC Noris in Nuremberg in 1949 . From 1951 to 1969 he was President of the Bavarian Chess Federation . In 1969 he became President of the German Chess Federation as the successor to Emil Dähne . He remained president until his death in 1975 and was then replaced by Alfred Kinzel .
He organized the Chess Olympiads in Munich in 1958 and Siegen in 1970 .
The German Chess Federation awarded him the DSB's Golden Badge of Honor in 1970.
