Luigi Centoz

Luigi Centoz (born April 2, 1883 in Saint-Pierre , Aosta Valley , Italy , † October 28, 1969 ) was a Curia Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Luigi Centoz received on 9 June 1906, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 28, 1932, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Edessa in Osrhoene and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Bolivia . Cardinal Secretary of State Eugenio Pacelli donated him episcopal ordination on February 14 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Giuseppe Pizzardo and Giuseppe Rossino . On September 14, 1936, Luigi Centoz became Apostolic Nuncio in Venezuela . Pope Pius XII appointed him on February 19, 1940 as Apostolic Nuncio in Lithuania . On December 3, 1941, Centoz became Apostolic Nuncio to Costa Rica , Nicaragua, and Panama . He resigned as Apostolic Nuncio to Nicaragua on October 4, 1948. On April 26, 1952, Pius XII appointed him. to the official in the Vatican State Secretariat . Luigi Centoz became Apostolic Nuncio in Cuba on November 29, 1954 . Pope John XXIII appointed him on July 5, 1962 as Vice Chamberlain of the Apostolic Chamber .

Luigi Centoz participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
