Lukáš Pešek
Lukáš Pešek (born November 22, 1985 in Prague ) is a Czech motorcycle racer .
Career
Pešek came over the Czech championship of the eight-liter class and the 250 cc European championship to the motorcycle world championship . After his first start in 2002 on a 125 cc Honda , he competed nine times in the 2003 season with a 250 cc Yamaha and came in 30th overall. The next year he drove again on a 125 cc Honda and reached the 21st place in the World Championship.
In 2005 he drove a similar season to the previous year at a Derbi , but in 2006 he improved significantly. With a second place at the Grand Prix of Spain , he took his first World Cup podium and two third places followed from pole positions in Italy and Germany . He finished the World Cup in sixth place. The next season was again an improvement: after a third place in Qatar and a second place in Spain, he drove his first Grand Prix victory in China from third starting position. He achieved further podium places with second place in France , third in the Czech Republic and his second GP victory in Australia . He finished the World Cup in fourth place, with 182 points, ahead of third-placed Koyama with 193 points.
As a result, Pešek switched to the 250 cc class with an Aprilia in 2008 . He could never achieve a podium in two seasons and finished in 15th place on both occasions. In 2010 he rode a Moriwaki in the newly created Moto2 class .
In the 2012 season , Lukáš Pešek competed in the Supersport World Championship for the PRORACE team on a Honda CBR 600 RR . In the final ranking he finished 33rd overall with six points.
In 2013 Pešek competed in the MotoGP class of the motorcycle world championship. He starts for the Italian team Came IodaRacing Project on Ioda- Suter with a BMW engine. His teammate is the Italian Danilo Petrucci . Pešek's best finish so far was 16th at the Catalonia Grand Prix on the Circuit de Catalunya .
