Luka Omoto

Luka Omoto (born June 7, 1973 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a German actress with Japanese and Brazilian roots.

life and career

Omoto first appeared on stage in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 15. At 17 she played 'Comrade Chin' alongside Raul Cortez in the play M. Butterfly at the Teatro de Arena. In the same year she emigrated to Berlin and began classical ballet training at the Berlin State Ballet School . In 2013 she assumed German citizenship .

Since 1999 she has worked in more than 30 film and television productions in Brazil and in German-speaking countries. In 2002 she played the lead role Shula in the TV movie " Last Minute Love " alongside Tim Bergmann . The following year she stood in front of the camera alongside Josef Hader , Simon Schwarz , Joachim Król and Jürgen Tarrach in Wolfgang Murnberger's black comedy Silentium , which won the Austrian Film Prize in 2005.

In Brazil, Luka Omoto played the role of Dani in the HBO series Alice , directed by Karim Ainouz, in nine episodes. In 2016 she worked in the BR - Tatort " The Truth " in the lead role Ayumi.

Omoto lives with her two sons in Germany.
