Lutschanky ( Ukrainian Лучанки ; Russian Лучанки Lutschanki ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast Zhytomyr with about 500 inhabitants (2001).
The village was founded in the second half of the 18th century (another source mentions the year 1768) has been part of November 2017 administratively to the rural community Slowetschne ( Словечанську сільську територіальну громаду Slowetschansku silsku terytorialnu hromadu ) in the north of Rajon Ovruch . Before that, it was the center of a district council , which also included the villages Vosnytschi ( Возничі , ⊙ ) with about 210 inhabitants, Kosuli ( Козулі , ⊙ ) with about 20 inhabitants and Mazky ( Мацьки , ⊙ ) with about 60 inhabitants.
The location is directly on the border of Belarus at an altitude of 154 m on the banks of Slovechna , a 158 km long, the right side stream of Prypjat , 26 km north of the community center Slowetschne ( Словечне ), 50 km northwest of the Rajonzentrum Ovruch and 170 km north of Zhytomyr Oblast Center .
In 2016, the village served as the backdrop for a film about the life of a family in the Chernobyl exclusion zone established after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster .
